NextEra Energy, Inc. is a North American electric power and energy infrastructure company headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. It owns Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), a major regulated electric utility providing electricity to approximately 12 million people across Florida. It also owns NextEra Energy Resources, one of the largest energy infrastructure development businesses in the United States. The group develops, owns and operates electricity generation and energy infrastructure using renewable energy, natural gas, nuclear power and battery storage. NextEra Energy Resources has an operating portfolio across 44 U.S. states and approximately 45.7 GW of generating capacity. Its activities include power generation, electricity transmission and distribution, energy storage and natural-gas infrastructure. Through FPL and NextEra Energy Resources, the company serves residential and business electricity customers and wholesale energy markets across North America.
