Description
Avianca Holdings, S.A. provides air transportation services. It offers passenger air transportation services and cargo air transportation services, as well as undertakes ground operations for third-party airlines at hub airports. The company provides its services in the domestic markets of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, as well as for international routes, such as North America, Central and South Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean. It is also involved in aircraft leasing activities and the operation of LifeMiles, a frequent flyer program that provides travel and other awards to members of the program based on accumulated mileage credits. As of December 31, 2013, Avianca Holdings, S.A. operated a fleet of 171 aircraft. The company was formerly known as AviancaTaca Holding S.A. and changed its name to Avianca Holdings, S.A. in March 2013. Avianca Holdings, S.A. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Bogot, Colombia.
