Description
CARBO Ceramics Inc., a technology company, provides products and services to the oil and gas, and industrial markets in the United States and internationally. It operates in two segments, Oilfield Technologies and Services, and Environmental Products and Services. The company manufactures and sells KRYPTOSPHERE HD, a ceramic proppant engineered to deliver increased conductivity and durability in the highest closure stress wells. CARBOHSP and CARBOPROP are designed for use in deep oil and gas wells. CARBOLITE is used in medium depth oil and gas wells, while CARBOECONOPROP is a low-density ceramic proppant. CARBOHYDROPROP enhances performance in slickwater fracture treatments, and CARBOBOND LITE is a resin-coated ceramic for oil and natural gas wells that are subject to the risk of proppant flow-back. It also provides CARBO NORTHERN WHITE, a frac sand that is used by operators that value quality. Additionally, CARBONRT is a detectable proppant used to assist operators in determining the locations of fractures in natural gas and oil wells. SCALEGUARD is a porous ceramic proppant infused with scale-inhibiting chemicals and placed throughout the fracture as part of the hydraulic fracturing process. The company offers FUSION technology that improves well productivity by forming a stable proppant pack, preventing proppant washout from the non-compressive annulus and near-wellbore areas. CARBOAIR is another product, a high-transport density ceramic proppant technology designed to increase production and EUR from slickwater fracturing operations. Moreover, the company provides fracture simulation software under the FracPro brand and offers hydraulic fracture design and consulting services under the StrataGen brand. In addition, it provides spill prevention, containment, and countermeasure systems for the oil and gas industry. The company sells its products and services to operators of oil and natural gas wells, and oilfield service companies. CARBO Ceramics Inc. was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
